Nigeria’s Super Eagles have secured their spot in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals with a 1-0 victory at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium.

The pressure was on for Nigeria facing formidable opponents, the Black Antelopes of Angola, who caused major upsets, including eliminating Namibia in the round of 16.

However, the Super Eagles quickly found their rhythm, taking the lead with a precise finish by Ademola Lookman just before half-time.

Moses Simon provided a low pass from the left, allowing the Atalanta star to score stylishly, leaving Angola’s goalkeeper helpless.

This marked Lookman's third goal of the tournament, all coming in the knockout stages, making him the fourth Nigerian in history to score three goals in the AFCON knockout stages.

While Lookman shone for the Super Eagles, Osimhen made a significant impact in Jose Peseiro’s attacking front, with a disallowed goal in the second half due to offside.

Simon displayed skillful maneuvers, earning a standing ovation for dribbling through two Angola players.

Troost-Ekong, Celvin Bassey, Ola Aina, and Semi Ajayi demonstrated defensive prowess, thwarting major threats from their opponents.

Nwabali, returning from injury, showcased a spectacular performance, exuding joy on the pitch.

The Super Eagles will now face the winners of the match between Cape Verde and South Africa on February 7.
