In the midst of dealing with her recent diagnosis of COVID-19, Julie shared that her partner decided to break up with her. According to her account, he made the call to end their relationship on the same evening she informed him about her positive test result, while she was still in the hospital.

Reflecting on the situation, Julie Adenuga described the painful experience of dealing with a breakup while also grappling with the physical and emotional toll of a COVID-19 diagnosis. She expressed:
“I was in a relationship for a long time where I knew it wasn’t the right one but I thought it might be the best I am going to get. So, I decided to keep it going for as long as possible.
“I got COVID-19 and the day that I found out I had COVID-19, my boyfriend broke up with me. I was mad that day. I sent him a picture of my test result. And that evening, he called me that he was breaking up with me.”
