Reports indicate that the pastor of Chef Dammy, Pastor Jeremiah, is facing a lawsuit from the Ekiti government on behalf of the chef, seeking damages.

Nigerian chef Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has filed a rights infringement lawsuit against Jeremiah Adegoke and the Ekiti State Police Command at the Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti.

The lawsuit, initiated by the Directorate of Citizens Rights (DCR) at the Ekiti State Ministry of Justice, requests the court to prevent Mr. Adegoke and the police from detaining Chef Dammy. Additionally, Chef Dammy, known for her attempt to break a Guinness World Record, is seeking N10 million in damages.

The lawsuit comes shortly afterChef Dammy was reportedly arrested on the order of Mr. Adegoke, her pastor, just a week before the filing.

In October, the 24-year-old chef raised concerns about alleged harassment and constant threats from individuals she referred to as “people of God” and her pastor, sparking the conflict. Chef Dammy expressed being intimidated and harassed, leading to constant fear for her life.

The specific cause of the dispute between Chef Dammy and her once-supportive pastor, Mr. Adegoke, remains unclear, but it appears to be linked to the unsuccessful cook-a-thon.

The lawsuit seeks a declaration that the continued harassment, molestation, threat of arrest, and intimidation by the pastor, allied with Mr. Samuel and the Nigerian police, infringes on the applicant’s fundamental human rights.

Furthermore, the lawsuit demands a restraining order to prevent Chef Dammy’s arrest and seeks compensation of N10 million for aggravation and damages.
