The rapper disclosed that his father abandoned him when he was eight years old, leaving him to navigate life independently. Erigga shared that he faced hardships, delving into aspects of his past that couldn't be captured on camera, including self-raising and exposure to risky behaviors.

Despite the challenges, Erigga found solace in his passion for music and knew where he wanted to be. Fast forward to his success as a star, and he finds his estranged father seeking a share of his achievements, criticizing him for not fulfilling paternal responsibilities.

Erigga reflected on the irony of parental entitlement, stating, “When you see parents start feeling entitled, it doesn’t make sense because you had many years ahead of me, why didn’t make it before me? People don’t really address this entitlement mentality in Africa."

He continued, "I don father myself alone. And I can’t give you the credit. All my stepbrothers started begging me to forgive our dad, saying he wasn’t also responsible to them. But at the end of the day, they are only having the conversation with me because I am who I am.”
