Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid, shared in an exclusive chat that he crafted his hit songs ‘Gyrate,’ ‘Essence,’ ‘Soco,’ and ‘Nowo’ in a single night.
Discussing the creative process of music-making, he revealed that on most nights, he wakes up and effortlessly creates two or three hit songs as his spirit guides him.

When asked if he foresaw that ‘Essence’ would become a hit, he confidently replied, stating that he knew the song would have a significant impact. His response was a resounding, ‘Hell yeah.’
Wizkid further shared that there were instances when he even forgot about creating a song. However, when he tweeted about making magic with Tems, it captured people’s attention. Notably, he emphasized that he has been in the music industry for a decade.
