Ivan Toney marked an impressive return to Brentford, scoring just 19 minutes into his comeback against Nottingham Forest.

The striker, recently back from an eight-match ban for betting offenses, assumed the captaincy for the game.

Responding swiftly to an early goal from Nottingham Forest, Toney netted a sensational free kick from approximately 20 yards out. This marked his third free-kick goal in the Premier League since the summer of 2023, sharing the top spot with James Ward-Prowse.

Celebrating with the fans and embracing the coaching staff, Toney made a gesture indicating his commitment to Brentford. He pointed to his chest and then to the pitch, likely signaling his intention to stay with the club. Additionally, he held up a shirt with the message “Thank you Uncle Brian.”

Meanwhile, Toney’s goal was followed by two more from Ben Mee and Neal Maupay. However, Nottingham didn’t go down without a fight. Their resilience saw them score two, courtesy of Danilo Oliveira and Chris Wood, bringing the Premier League clash to 3-2.
