Nigerian artist Iyanya has responded to an outcry from Mayorkun concerning a distressing incident in Calabar, Cross River.

After his performance at an end-of-year event, Mayorkun, in a post that has since gone viral, pledged never to return to Calabar.

The former DMW signee, who recently addressed those asking for Christmas presents, expressed reservations about accepting an invitation to return to Calabar.

While wishing success to other musicians performing at the Calabar festivals, Mayorkun did not disclose the reasons behind his decision.

Mayorkun shared a picture of himself performing on stage and captioned it; “CALABAR, You’ll probably NEVER EVER see me again, Good luck to the other artists coming for your festivals tho.”

As he implored fellow indigenous people to return the stolen item, the Cross River native and Kukere musician, Iyanya, posted a tweet:

“My Calabar people, this is very bad for the peaceful people I know us to be. The government has brought my colleagues to entertain you, all you owe them is protection and great hospitality. If you know anyone who stole from my brother, please return it and I will personally compensate you… Drop it at THE GRAND HOTEL I will personally compensate you PLEASE.
