Renowned Fuji singer Kolawole Rasaq Ilori, popularly known as Kollington Ayinla, has vehemently denied rumours circulating about his death.

Speculations regarding the critically ill state of the 75-year-old musician surfaced earlier this week, prompting concerns among fans and the public.

The musician addressed the rumours through a public statement issued from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on Tuesday.

He emphatically affirmed his well-being and expressed profound gratitude to those who had supported him during his recent health challenges.

The Fuji legend specifically thanked the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the unwavering support provided during his illness.

Additionally, Ayinla extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Adetokunbo Fabanwo, and the entire hospital’s management for their exceptional care and treatment.

In his detailed statement, Ayinla acknowledged the pivotal role of divine intervention in preserving life while also commending the medical team for their tireless efforts.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to Lagosians. I want to appreciate the government of Lagos State and the management of the State University Teaching Hospital and its leader Adetokunbo O. Fabanwo.

“It is only God that can save life, but I want to appreciate Him and the team because I would have gone to the great beyond.

“I give it to LASUTH. They are kings for taking care of me. They deserve my salutations. LASUTH LASUTH LASUTH, you are kings. They said I was dead, but I’m here speaking alive from LASUTH now,” he said.
