Adetoun Onajobi, an activist, has shared the harrowing challenges she encountered following her father's demise, recounting the stark refusal of mortuaries and hospitals to accept his corpse.

Detailing her ordeal during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Adetoun disclosed that her father's body faced rejection by hospitals, a consequence she attributed to his affiliation with the Ogboni Fraternity.

Reflecting on the circumstances of her father's passing, Adetoun recalled an armed robbery incident at their home, leading to her father narrowly escaping. However, upon his demise, the hospital declined to accept his body, expressing concerns about potential conflicts arising from his membership in the Ogboni Fraternity.

“No mortuary or hospital could take him because he was a lodge member. The only thing we could do was bring him back home,” shared Adetoun, persevering through the challenges until her father's body found its resting place in his bedroom.

She also highlighted the involvement of the Methodist community, given her father's Methodist background. However, owing to the sensitive nature of the situation, they refrained from disclosing the body's presence in the house, apprehensive about potential robbery attempts.

The complex issues surrounding her father's death shed light on the intricate difficulties Adetoun faced during that challenging period.
