Luton Town showcased a dominant performance against Brighton with a remarkable 4-0 home victory, fueled by a hat-trick from forward Elijah Adebayo.

The home side quickly seized control, as the Nigeria-born English player Adebayo scored just 18 seconds into the match, heading in Carlton Morris’ knockdown.

Luton extended their lead when another Nigerian, Chiedozie Ogbene, capitalized on a defensive lapse from Brighton to beat the goalkeeper.

Adebayo, 26, continued his stellar performance, scoring his second goal late in the first half after a well-timed run onto Ross Barkley’s pass.

Despite an early offside ruling for Jordan Clark’s goal in the second half, Adebayo completed his hat-trick with a header from Alfie Doughty’s corner.

The victory holds significance for Luton, lifting them above Everton and out of the relegation zone.

For Brighton, the defeat is disappointing, causing them to drop to eighth place in the Premier League standings.

Adebayo, born in England on January 7, 1998, is of Nigerian descent, with his father reportedly from Remo Ogun state.

Similarly, Ogbene, 26, born in Lagos, Nigeria, moved with his family to Ireland in 2005, where he pledged allegiance to the country’s national team.
