President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expresses praise for the Super Eagles of Nigeria following their 4-2 penalty-point victory against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
In the thrilling semi-final match, Nigeria defeated South Africa 4-2 in a penalty shootout on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake. Nigeria’s replacement, Kelechi Iheanacho, scored the winning goal.
The game concluded 1-1 during extra time. On Sunday, February 11, the hosts, Ivory Coast, or the Democratic Republic of the Congo, will square off against the three-time winners.
President Tinubu responded by pleading with the Super Eagles to go above and beyond in their upcoming match. Writing on his X account on Wednesday night, Tinubu said;
