Renowned political commentator and activist, Reno Omokri, delves into the issue of the steady rise of the Dollar against the naira and expresses his stance on banning the importation of human hair if he were President Tinubu.

Why I will ban the importation of human hair if I were president Tinubu – Reno Omokri Reno Omokri.

Omokri argues that the depreciation of the naira is linked to Nigerians' extensive spending on foreign goods, emphasizing the impact on the country's economy.

He points out that a significant portion of foreign exchange is used to pay foreign airlines, and he questions why Nigerians opt for foreign carriers when domestic options like Air Peace are available.

Highlighting the expenditure on human hair, Omokri contends that the Central Bank paid $200 million for imported hair, which he sees as unnecessary given that such hair originates from countries like India and Bangladesh. He suggests that if he were President Tinubu, he would consider banning the importation of human hair.

In his Instagram post, Omokri states:

“The Naira is a reflection of the Nigerian... We spend more on human hair than on books. The Naira is now our collective responsibility. If we don’t band together to stand together and buy made in Nigeria, the Naira will continue to go asunder!”

He further addresses the impact of lavish spending on imported luxury items, stressing the importance of supporting locally-made products to strengthen the Naira.
