In a touching tribute, the Super Eagles of Nigeria paid their respects to fans who lost their lives during the AFCON semi-final match.
The homage was dedicated to the four Nigerians who tragically lost their lives during the team’s clash with South Africa on Wednesday, February 7.
The tragic incident occurred as Nigerian fans globally tuned in to witness the intense semi-finals of the ongoing AFCON tournament.
Among the deceased were notable individuals, including an APC chieftain, Cairo Ojougboh, an Ivory Coast-based Nigerian businessman, a dedicated serving member of the NYSC, and the Deputy Bursar of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Alhaji Ayuba Abdullahi.
United in grief, the Super Eagles players stood in solemn silence, paying tribute to the memory of those who had passed away. After the minute of silence, the players offered prayers for the departed souls and prayed for divine comfort for their grieving families.
