On January 27th, 2024, Sylvester was laid to rest amidst the presence of dignitaries, including Human Rights activist Femi Falana. The elaborate nature of the burial sparked reactions on social media, with some expressing concern about the grandeur surrounding the event.

Reactions from social media users included critiques of the cultural and age appropriateness of such elaborate burials for young individuals. Despite the passage of two years since Sylvester's demise, the event reignited discussions on the tragic incident and the subsequent legal battles between the family and the school management.

Recalling the circumstances, Sylvester passed away in November 2021, allegedly due to bullying by his seniors at Dowen College. The school management contested these claims, attributing the injuries to a football-related incident.

A prolonged legal battle ensued, marked by conflicting reports, autopsy results, and disagreements between the family and the school. The delay in Sylvester's burial was a result of his father's insistence on justice being served before interment.

An autopsy conducted in January 2022 revealed that Sylvester died from 'acute lung injury from chemical intoxication in a background of blunt force.' However, conflicting reports and disagreements persisted, prolonging the legal process and delaying the burial.
