Everton is anticipated to receive the decision on their appeal against a ten-point deduction by mid-February, as per reports.

The club faced penalties in November for violating Premier League profit and sustainability rules, surpassing the permitted limit by £19.5 million over a three-year span.

Everton promptly filed an appeal, contending that the overspending did not confer any sporting advantage and was mainly due to interest payments on loans for their new stadium construction, as stated by talkSPORT.

If successful, Everton aims to overturn a subsequent charge for breaching the same rules, issued earlier this month.

Simultaneously, an independent hearing into the initial punishment is set to commence on Wednesday.

The points deduction has implications for Everton’s Premier League standing, currently placed 17th with 17 points, just one above the relegation zone.
