Editorial Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026

This policy explains how FeelGist creates, checks and publishes content, so readers and advertisers can trust what they read.

Our Mission and Standards

We aim to publish accurate, original and useful coverage of African music. Every article must be written for readers first, not just for search engines.

Original Content

We do not copy articles from other sites. Where we report news first reported elsewhere, we add our own context or analysis and credit and link the original source. We do not publish scraped, auto-generated or thin content.

Sourcing and Fact-Checking

  • News is confirmed through official artist or label announcements, verified social media accounts, press releases or direct contact.
  • Release dates, track lists, credits and awards are checked against official platforms before publishing.
  • Rumors are clearly labeled as unconfirmed, and we do not publish claims about a person’s private life without credible sourcing.
  • We avoid defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit or misleading content.

Reviews and Opinion

Reviews and opinion pieces reflect the views of the author and are labeled as such. We review music based on its merit. Our writers disclose any personal relationship with the artist or label involved.

Independence and Sponsored Content

  • Editorial decisions are separate from advertising. Advertisers and artists cannot buy positive coverage or change a review.
  • Paid promotion, sponsored posts and press-release style placements are clearly labeled “Sponsored” or “Promoted”.
  • Affiliate links, if used, are disclosed on the page.
  • Free music, tickets or products received for review are mentioned where relevant.

We do not host pirated music or link to unauthorized download sources. Images are used with permission, from press kits or credited to their owners. See our DMCA Policy.

Use of AI Tools

We may use AI tools for tasks such as research assistance, spell-checking or headline suggestions. Every article is written, reviewed and approved by a human editor who is responsible for its accuracy. We do not publish unreviewed AI-generated text.

Authors and Accountability

Articles carry a named author where possible, with a short bio. The editor-in-chief, [Name], is ultimately responsible for editorial content.

Updates

News stories are updated when new facts emerge, with a note on significant changes. See our Corrections Policy.
