Nigerian Afropop star Ayra Starr teams up with British singer and songwriter ZAYN on “Heaven Baby,” a romantic collaboration featured on her third studio album, Starrgirl. Released on August 14, 2026, the song brings together two distinct vocal styles, pairing Ayra’s expressive delivery with ZAYN’s smooth, airy vocals. The collaboration creates an international pop moment while showcasing Ayra Starr’s continued expansion beyond the Afrobeats scene.
Built around a piano-led arrangement, “Heaven Baby” blends elements of Afropop, pop, and R&B into a soft, intimate sound. The track explores the feeling of being drawn deeply to someone, presenting attraction and romantic connection as an almost heavenly experience. Rather than relying on a heavy, percussion-driven production, the song allows the contrasting voices of Ayra Starr and ZAYN to remain at the centre of the arrangement.
For Ayra Starr, the release adds another notable collaboration to a career that has continued to attract international attention. The Mavin Records singer is known for songs that move between Afropop, soul, and contemporary pop, while ZAYN brings experience from his career as a solo artist and former member of One Direction. Their different musical backgrounds give the duet its distinctive character.
Fans exploring Ayra Starr’s catalogue can also revisit “Rush,” “Commas,” “Rhythm & Blues,” and “Last Heartbreak Song” featuring GIVĒON. These releases highlight different sides of her artistry, from confident Afropop anthems to more vulnerable, emotionally driven songs.
“Heaven Baby” by Ayra Starr featuring ZAYN is available on major streaming platforms as part of Starrgirl. The official music video, released on October 5, 2026, adds a visual dimension to the collaboration, bringing the two performers together in a sleek, atmospheric setting that complements the song’s romantic mood.
