Nigerian street-pop star Shallipopi returns with WayWard, a three-track project that continues his distinctive approach to Afrobeats and street-hop.
Known for his relaxed delivery, playful slang and memorable hooks, the Pluto Presido brings another compact release to his growing catalogue. The project features “.com,” “UP (Transovania)” and “OGO,” giving fans three records to explore in one short collection.
Across WayWard, Shallipopi leans into the rhythmic bounce and chant-driven style that have helped define his sound. “.com” plays with internet-inspired phrases and the artist’s familiar Pluto references, while “UP (Transovania)” introduces imaginative, space-themed imagery with an energetic, party-oriented feel. “OGO” rounds out the project with themes of confidence, recognition and success, keeping the focus on the streetwise personality that runs through his music.
The release follows Shallipopi’s previous projects, including Auracle (2025), Shakespopi (2024) and Presido La Pluto (2023). Since breaking through with “Elon Musk,” the Benin City-born artist has built a recognisable identity around catchy expressions, unconventional song titles and a sound that draws from contemporary Afrobeats and street-hop. WayWard continues that musical direction with a brief but focused set of tracks.
Fans revisiting his earlier catalogue can return to songs such as “Laho,” “ASAP,” “Cast” featuring ODUMODUBLVCK, and “Obapluto” featuring Pa Monday-Edo. These releases offer more examples of Shallipopi’s playful wordplay, confident delivery and ability to create memorable hooks, providing useful listening alongside the new project.
WayWard by Shallipopi is available to stream on Apple Music. With three tracks and his familiar street-pop identity at the centre, the project gives longtime followers and new listeners another release to add to their playlists while exploring the artist’s evolving catalogue.
