This week’s Afrobeats selection gathers ten records from Blaqbonez, Asake, FOLA, Seyi Vibez, BNXN, Davido, TML Vibez, Ayo Maff and Shoday, and it was published on October 19, 2026. It is a weekly roundup rather than a single release.
Three acts take more than one slot: FOLA and Seyi Vibez have three songs each, and Blaqbonez has two. The mix of established names and newer voices says a lot about where the Nigerian scene sits right now.
The selection covers a wide stylistic range, based on how each record is described in the write-ups. “IKEBE 3000” pairs Blaqbonez’s witty lyricism with Asake’s unmistakable vocal delivery over a high-energy groove, while “Big Performer” is framed as a confident, playful record that blurs rap and Afrobeats.
FOLA’s “waf” is described as smooth and laid-back, “in order” as reflective and emotional, and “2am in toronto” with Davido as a late-night collaboration that sets his soulful melodies against Davido’s star power.
Seyi Vibez appears with “Back 2 U,” which carries themes of love, longing and appreciation, “Ilome,” which reflects his journey, gratitude and roots, and “Akpan Akpari,” which fuses street-inspired storytelling with soulful melodies. BNXN’s “If You Like” is a feel-good melodic record, and “Shuperu” is described as an energetic collaboration with a catchy hook.
On the credits, “IKEBE 3000” features Asake, while “Big Performer” is a Blaqbonez solo, and both sit on his album NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, released through Chocolate City Music. “waf,” “in order” and “2am in toronto” are all tracks on FOLA’s sophomore album 9, released on October 9, 2026 through Dangbana Republik Records and EMPIRE, and “2am in toronto” features Davido. “Back 2 U” and “Ilome” are tied to Seyi Vibez’s SWAGUU project. “Shuperu” is credited to TML Vibez featuring Ayo Maff and Shoday.
Several of these artists arrive with fresh numbers behind them. “IKEBE 3000” debuted at No. 2 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart, and it held No. 1 on Spotify Nigeria for a third day. “Big Performer” peaked at No. 2 on Spotify Nigeria, and Blaqbonez’s earlier “Chanel” with Asake gave him his first No. 1 on Nigeria’s Official Top 100. FOLA’s 9 debuted at No. 2 on the Spotify Top Albums Debut Global chart and took No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria, while “2am in toronto” broke into the Apple Music Nigeria top 10.
On the streaming ledger, Seyi Vibez (2.11 billion), BNXN (2.29 billion) and FOLA (1.04 billion) have all passed 1 billion Spotify streams across all credits, and BNXN has been named a supporting act on Asake’s In God We Trust tour for the London and Paris shows.
Every act here belongs to Nigeria’s music scene, and the ten records together make a solid weekly playlist, whether you are after Blaqbonez’s swagger, FOLA’s soulful lean or Seyi Vibez’s street storytelling.
