South African Maskandi artist UQhoshangokwenzakwakhe returns with Ungaqhoshi, a two-track album released on October 20, 2026.
The project adds to the artist’s catalogue of traditional South African music, giving listeners a concise release centred on the Maskandi sound. With its short tracklist, the album offers a direct introduction to UQhoshangokwenzakwakhe’s latest musical offering.
The project features two songs, “Lunezibukeli” and “Ungaqhoshi.” Each track contributes to the album’s compact presentation, with the title song serving as the release’s central collaboration.
Rather than a lengthy collection, Ungaqhoshi keeps its focus on two individual recordings, making it a straightforward addition for fans following new Maskandi releases.
On the title track, UQhoshangokwenzakwakhe collaborates with Londeka Shangase and Luve Dubazane, bringing the three credited artists together on one of the album’s two songs. The other track, “Lunezibukeli,” is also included on the project. Together, the recordings form the complete tracklist of this 2026 release.
